NDP Choose Provincial Candidate in Thunder Bay Atikokan

Canadian PoliticsTHUNDER BAY – Mary Kozorys,was chosen by New Democratic Party members to stand as the Thunder Bay-Atikokan NDP candidate for the October 6, 2011 provincial election. Defeated contestant, Madge Richardson, former Schreiber mayor, conceded defeat with gracious remarks. A sealed ballot box travelled from Atikokan’s Tuesday May 10th meeting. After voting in Thunder Bay, results from both centres were tallied.

Ms. Kozorys is a south-core 30 year community volunteer. She is currently the executive assistant to John Rafferty MP, and was executive assistant to the previous Thunder Bay-Rainy River federal Member of Parliament.

She will challenge incumbent Liberal MPP Bill Mauro, and Progressive Conservative canadidate, Fred Gilbert.
