Man Charged with 2nd Degree Murder

breaking newsTHUNDER BAY – The city may have its second homocide of the year. The Thunder Bay Police report that “A 63 year old Thunder Bay man is in custody this morning in connection with the murder of his 61 year old wife. The male surrendered himself to police at 1200 Balmoral Street just before 11:00 p.m. last night. Officers were then dispatched to an apartment at 540 Oliver Road. The deceased was discovered in her apartment.

The name of the deceased and accused will be released once notification of next of kin has occurred. The male has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder. The male will make his first appearance in court this morning via video.

A postmortem examination of the deceased is pending. The crime scene is being held by police for the ongoing investigation.
