Gas pumpTHUNDER BAY – The price of a litre of gasoline is on the rise again. Depending on where in Thunder Bay you choose to fill up, the price can range from $1.08.2 out on the Fort William First Nation to $132.9 along Memorial Drive. Prices for gasoline are spurred by the international price of oil, which has been rising lately. Instability in the Middle East in Libya and Bahrain are part of the cause.

The price of energy has a powerful impact on the economy, as well as on families.
According to OPEC, “The price of OPEC basket of twelve crudes stood at 109.55 dollars a barrel on Tuesday, compared with $112.03 the previous day, according to OPEC Secretariat calculations”.
Over the past month the price of a barrel of oil has climbed from $85 to almost $110. That increase is now being reflected at the gas pump.
