Dr. Kurban Stepping down from Board of Health

Breaking NewsTHUNDER BAY – The Board of Health has announced with regret that Dr. Henry Kurban, acting medical officer of health, is resigning from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, effective July 1, 2011, due to extenuating personal and family circumstances. The announcement took place at today’s regularly scheduled Board of Health meeting.

Recruitment for a medical officer of health will be considered by the Board, immediately.

The Board of Health acknowledges its appreciation to Dr. Kurban for his contributions to the objectives of the Health Unit.

“The Board is disappointed to be losing Dr. Kurban at this time,” says Maria Harding, Chair of the Board of Health. “But, we are optimistic about the many recent positive organizational initiatives he has undertaken and we are looking forward to building on this foundation over the months and years to come.”
