Valentines Day Memorial March – 12:00 Noon Monday

THUNDER BAY – On Valentines Day, (Monday February 14) there will be a memorial walk to remember missing and murdered Anishinabe and Metis women from across Northwestern Ontario.

The Valentines Day Memorial March will start at the corner of Simpson St & Victoria Ave, walk north to the Lakehead Labour Centre parking lot. Participants will meet at 11:30 and start walking at 12:00 noon. The Full Moon Memory Walk hosts the 3rd annual VALENTINES DAY MEMORIAL MARCH again this year. This memorial march coincides with other marches held across Canada on the same day.

“We’ll begin walking at the same location as we do for the Full Moon Memory Walk and head north towards the Lakehead Labour Centre where we’ll have coffee and refreshments,” shares shares Sharon Johnson, one of the organizers. “Bring signs with hearts, posters with hearts, or anything nice to remember our missing and murdered Anishinabe women. Feel free to carry photos/signs, or anything with hearts in memory of your loved ones”.
