Official Results Released on Election 2010

THUNDER BAY – As declared by the City Clerk under the Municipal Elections Act 2006, the Official Results of the 2010 Municipal Election and District School Board Elections have been released.

Voters selected representatives to Thunder Bay City Council and the School Board that they support.  Electors chose Councillors for their ward, at-large and Mayor to make up the 13 member City Council.

The total ballots cast were 38,327, and voter turnout was 46.53%. In the 2006 election, the total ballots cast were 33,192, and voter turnout was 38.2%.

“I’m satisfied that the efforts we made in promoting awareness of the election contributed positively to the voter turnout,” said John Hannam, City Clerk.
