“My name is Sharon Ostberg….”

Sharon OstbergTHUNDER BAY – My name is Sharon Ostberg I am an aboriginal woman born in Thunder Bay and raised in a small community of Heron Bay.  I am a band member of the Pic River First Nations, where I have served on council for 15 years.

Having recently retired after 32 years with the federal government, I had decided to put my name in for councillor at large for the city of Thunder Bay, because there is a high aboriginal population in the city; I believe they need a voice on council.

I also believe in developing meaningful partnerships with the First Nations governments and agencies, so that we can become a better city to live, work, play and stay.

I realise that this is a huge commitment and at times can be equally gratifying or thankless; however, I am a committed individual when I set out to do something I will work at it until it gets done.

I believe that my experience working within the federal government and with various Aboriginal agencies and First Nations government will be a great asset to this city.

On October 25th I would like your support vote for Sharon Ostberg councillor at large.
