THUNDER BAY – As of September 3rd, 2010 I will have officially filed to run as a candidate for Current Ward Councillor. I decided to run for Councillor, because I feel there is not enough representation on City Council that served the best interests of the people. When large sums of tax money are spent by the city, they should benefit all of us, not just a select few. It is blatantly obvious we need positive change with strong leadership, if we are to move forward.
Since Crime will no doubt be one of the election issues, I will be kicking of my campaign by requesting in person, the Police Operating Budget To-Date, for this year. Previously, I emailed the City Clerk and City Council requesting this information, not once, but twice. I never received a response.
I am committed to achieving the following objectives:
- NO TAX INCREASES AND DEBT REDUCTION
- PROACTIVE MANAGEMENT
- PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT AND TRANSPARENCY
- BETTER ESSENTIAL AND PUBLIC SERVICES
