Winter Weather Update

NIPIGON – WEATHER – A Weather Advisory has been issued by Environment Canada for the region from Nipigon to Schreiber. The snowfall will extend out eastward with Wawa and Pukaskwa Park included in the advisory.

Snow at times heavy due to lake enhancement off of Lake Superior will result in poor road conditions and reduced visibilities.

Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres are expected by the time the snow ends this evening with locally up to 15 centimetres, particularly over higher terrain.

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Marathon – Schreiber
  • Nipigon – Rossport
  • Wawa – Pukaskwa Park

Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect this morning and is expected to last until this evening.

Expect travel to be impacted along Highway 17 from Wawa to Nipigon.
