Toronto’s New Year’s Eve celebrations at Nathan Phillips Square

TORONTO – Travel – The program for New Year’s Eve at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square has been announced. The program to ring in 2019 features an impressive lineup of live musical performances, DJs, fireworks and more beginning at 8 pm on Monday, December 31.
“This free, family-friendly celebration will provide a memorable evening for Torontonians and visitors alike,” said Mayor John Tory. “Nathan Phillips Square is the best place in the city to ring in 2019.”
The alcohol-free celebration will feature DJ skating parties sponsored by Tim Hortons with DJ Money Jane and DJ MelBoogie.
Performances by critically acclaimed rapper, producer and poet Cadence Weapon and R&B/Neo-Soul-culture artist LIZA. Headlining the celebration will be co-founder and former member of “A Tribe Called Red”, DJ NDN, spinning his signature sound, a mix of powwow-step and hip hop.
The event will culminate with the countdown to the new year followed by a spectacular fireworks display at midnight.
