Greenstone OPP Lay Fraud Charges

Greenstone, ON – On Thursday, November 16, 2017, members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest resulting from an investigation into allegations of fraud.

The accused had already been facing fraud-related charges of:

  • Make Forged Document contrary to section 367 of the Criminal Code
  • Use Forged Document contrary to section 368 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Fraud Over $5000.00 contrary to section 380 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code

These charges were laid against her in July of this year as a result of a previous fraud investigation in which she was found to have defrauded Silver Linings Cabinetry of nearly $6,000.

During the course of the current investigation, the Greenstone OPP determined that the accused had defrauded Pagwachuan Equipment Sales of nearly $20,000.

Amanda SILVER, 37 years old of Geraldton, Ontario, is now charged with:

  • Make Forged Document contrary to section 367 of the Criminal Code
  • Use Forged Document contrary to section 368 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Fraud Over $5000.00 contrary to section 380 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code

She has been held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 10:00 am to answer to the charges.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
