Thunder Bay, ON – Wiggins Productions will be hosting Tapout’s Championship Album Release, Friday, May 8 at Black Pirates Pub (215 Red River Road). Opening the show will be The Bottom Rockers (punk rock), Grindcorchestra (grindcore), Railgun (heavy metal), as well as the debut performance of Femur (grimecore).
Tapout’s new album, Octagone Wild will be available at the show for $10 and contain 13 tracks of non-stop metallic ham-fisted hardcore madness. The album will also be available at New Day Records and online for digital download at https://tapoutband.bandcamp.com.
Octagone Wild was recorded at Dining Room Studios in Thunder Bay with Dave Angell who also engineered, mixed and mastered the album. All instruments were recorded in a single weekend to maintain a punk rock urgency. The album continues along the lines of Tapout’s first outing, Hit Machine, but ramps up the intensity with twisting and turning technical song structures, rock & roll swagger and a much more aggressive edge than before. With songs like “Body Karate”, “At the Buffet”, and “Wellwood Headlock”, the album still maintains the band’s tongue-and-cheek attitude towards ultimate fighting while wrapped up in riffs you can bang your head to until you have no choice but to tap out.
Doors at 10pm, show at 11pm. Cover is $5. Age of majority required. For more information, visit TBshows.com.
