Ducks Out Quack Senators

THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Ducks blasted the Senators in a 4-1 win in Anaheim. The Winnipeg Jets were shut-out winners over the New Jersey Devils.  The 3-0 shutout win over the Devils were just what the doctor ordered for the Jets who hit the ice Sunday mired in a slump.

 Jet’s netminder Al Montoya backstopped the high flying Jets stopping 24 shots for his fourth NHL shutout.

The Devils are winless in six games this season.

Ben Scrivens also got a shutout making twenty saves for his third career shutout. The shutout allowed the Los Angeles Kings to beat the Florida Panthers 3-0 on Sunday.

Jordan Nolan scored one goal and assisted on another. Justin Williams and Daniel Carcillo also out the puck behind the Panther’s goaltender  for the Kings. The Kings are on a three game wining streak.

Rob Klinkhammer scored his second goal of the game between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Hurricanes at the twenty-two second mark of the third period to help Phoenix get the victory.

Shane Doan, Mikkel Boedker and Lauri Korpikoski also scored for Phoenix. 

Netminder Mike Smith made 31 saves for the Coyotes. The Yodel Dogs were hot on the road, their five-game road trip saw the Coyotes win the last three in a row.

Eric Staal, Riley Nash, and Jeff Skinner scored for the Hurricanes in the losing cause.
