Dudley Hewitt Cup Game Two North Stars by James Mirabelli

FORT FRANCES, Ont.-Sports– Tyson Holder had a goal and two assists to help propel the Dryden Ice Dogs to a 4-1 victory over the host Fort Frances Lakers Friday evening in Superior International Junior Hockey League preseason play at Ice for Kids Arena.

The visiting Ice Dogs jumped out to 2-0 lead after one period of play on tallies by Dan Morin, via the power play, and Josh Reid.

After Merritt Rysavy pulled the Lakers to within one 8:30 into the middle session Jesse Linner restored the Dryden cushion striking shorthanded six minutes later.

Holder concluded the night’s scoring midway through the final frame in the exhibition opener for both clubs.

Kim Wildhaber picked up the win in net for the IceDogs while Tanner Hamilton was saddled with the loss.

The same two sides wrap-up their weekend home-and-home Saturday evening at Dryden’s Memorial Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
