Thunder Bay Police Service Responds to 1,042 Calls for Service from July 7–13

THUNDER BAY – LOCAL NEWS – And just in case you thought your week was busy, compared to the Thunder Bay Police it just might be a contrast in reality.

From July 7 to July 13, 2025, the Thunder Bay Police Service received a total of 1,042 calls for service, including 197 Priority 1 emergencies. That works out to just over six calls per hour. Now the reality is those calls do not come in spaced out over the week, they can come in bunches.

Breakdown of Calls for Service

  • 79 motor vehicle collisions

  • 62 intimate partner violence or family disputes

  • 27 assaults

  • 18 weapons-related calls

  • 12 break-and-enter incidents

  • 5 robberies

  • 89 unwanted person complaints

9-1-1 and Communications Centre Activity

Over the same seven-day period, the TPS Communications Centre handled 4,683 calls, of which 1,923 were incoming directly via 9-1-1.

These figures reflect the ongoing demands on frontline officers and dispatchers as they work to keep Thunder Bay safe.
