Thunder Bay Man Faces Charges After Cumming Street Weapons Incident

Replica handgun seized; suspect also had outstanding arrest warrant

THUNDER BAY – CRIME BULLETIN: A 25-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing multiple charges following a weapons-related incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon on the city’s south side.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Cumming Street at approximately 2:00 p.m. on July 8, following a report that a male suspect had brandished a weapon during an altercation.

Suspect Allegedly Brandished and Used Replica Handgun

Police were informed that the suspect had pointed what appeared to be a handgun at a female victim, and had also struck her with the weapon during the incident. By the time officers arrived, both individuals had left the scene, but the victim was located nearby and provided details to investigators.

Officers quickly identified and located the male suspect a short time later, taking him into custody without incident. As part of the investigation, police recovered a replica firearm, believed to be used in the assault.

Charges and Court Status

The suspect, identified as Donald GREEN, 25, of Thunder Bay, is now charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Police also confirmed that GREEN was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant at the time of the incident.

The accused appeared in Thunder Bay court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.
