Sudbury, ON — On Friday, November 17th, 2016, ARC Climbing and Yoga will transform their 35 foot high climbing wall into a huge movie screen to host the Reel Rock Film Tour as part of a weekend of activity for ARC’s 3rd year anniversary.  REEL ROCK at ARC will be a fundraiser for Climb Sudbury, the unofficial outdoor climbing club of Sudbury. Proceeds will go towards the maintenance of existing crags, access and trail work and the establishment of new crags and routes.

Reel Rock Tour

The REEL ROCK Film Tour brings the best climbing and adventure films of the year to live audiences throughout the world. The film tour is the definitive annual event for climbing communities globally. REEL ROCK shows are high energy, community events that go beyond mere film screenings to include prize giveaways, non-profit fundraising, and a fun atmosphere.

“We are excited to bring this world-class event to Sudbury for the second time,” said Angie Keefe one of the organizers of the event. “If you’ve ever experienced the Banff Film Festival, it is similar except all of the films are about climbing.”

Doors open at 6:30 pm and films start at 7 pm.  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online (http://www.arcclimbing.ca/reel-rock/) or in person at the door.  This year’s screening features 4 climbing adventure films spanning approximately 2 hours with a 30min intermission.  There will be food and drinks available for purchase and prize raffles and giveaways during the intermission.

More information on the event can be found at www.arcclimbing.ca/reel-rock/.  ARC welcomes anyone interested to attend; you don’t need to be a climber to enjoy these films!
