SANDY LAKE FN – On June 14, 2017, in the early morning hours, the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) Sandy Lake Detachment received a report of a stabbing.

The NAPS North West Region Crime Unit are investigating this incident.

As a result, a twenty-eight-year-old male was found to have sustained an injury to his chest.  The male is currently in medical care and is reported to be in stable condition.

This matter is still under investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.  Anyone with information about this incident is requested to contact Acting Detective Sergeant Alana Morrison at 807-738-2885.

Sandy Lake First Nation is approximately 600 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
