THUNDER BAY – ROADS – The Ministry of Transportation advises the motoring public that Highway 589 will be closed between Kam Current Road and Highway 591 at Lappe starting today. This temporary highway closure is required while a structural culvert at McIntyre Creek is being replaced. The closure will remain in effect for the duration of the work, which is expected to be completed by the end of August. A detour route is available and signed accordingly.
The MTO apologizes for the inconvenience and urge motorists to schedule their travel to minimize any delays. Motorists are reminded to obey and follow all traffic signage for the safety of both workers and drivers.
