THUNDER BAY – Santa Claus has started his annual trip. It is night overseas across the International Date Line.

NORAD Santa Tracking at www.noradsanta.org will let you, and the kids track were Santa Claus is up to the moment. It is a great way on Christmas Eve for the family to have fun.

The project started on Christmas Eve in 1955 with perhaps what is the most famous typographical error in history. An ad for a department store featured a telephone number that children could call Santa Claus. The number printed was to the Duty Desk Commander at NORAD.

Three years later the NORAD Santa Tracking started, and has continued to this day.

At 08:00AM EST Santa Claus is making his rounds, according to NORAD over the eastern part of Russia.
