THUNDER BAY – Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) raises awareness about mental illness in Canada by offering people practical ways to maintain and improve their mental health and support their recovery from mental illness. It also provides an opportunity for all Canadians to reflect on our attitudes and behaviours toward people living with mental health issues because we all need to work to reduce the discrimination and stigma associated with mental health problems.

To highlight MHAW 2014, TBRHSC is pleased to welcome David Granirer, a counselor, stand-up comic, mental health keynote speaker, and founder of Stand Up For Mental Health, a program that teaches stand-up comedy to people with mental illness or mental health issues as a way of building confidence and fighting public stigma.

Admission to this event is free.  Seating is limited so please register by calling 684-6453.
Date: Friday, May 9

Location: Auditorium A, 3rd Level, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre
Time: 6:30 pm Symposium / 7:00 pm Presentation
