Thunder Bay Police have arrested a suspect over an online ad seeking young boys

Kijiji Ad leads to Arrest

THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police began an investigation on February 18, 2014 looking into a concerning advertisement on Kijiji.

The advertisement was from a photographer looking for young male models between the age of 6 and 13 years of age.

The investigation led Detectives to communicate with the suspect via text messages.

Based on the information gathered during these communications, undercover officers arranged to meet the suspect. The suspect was unaware he was communicating with the police and showed up at the arranged location.

As a result, the suspect was arrested just before 16:00. on February 20, 2014.

27 year old Matthew William Lovering has been charged with:
– Invitation to Sexual Touching
– Luring a Child
– Breach of Probation
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking

He made a court appearance this morning and has been remanded to the district jail awaiting a next court date of February 26, 2014.
