The App Find My Iphone offers a simple way to locate a missing phone.
There are other apps also available too. However the App I Got Ya which is not an authorized Iphone App is gaining wide-spread publicity. The app takes a picture of the person when they enter a wrong password on your Iphone and emails it to you.
As an unauthorized app, the application can only be installed on jail-broken Iphones. The company advises if you do not know what that means you should google the term.
If you have a super phone or a smart phone, having an app installed, that helps you to locate your phone makes sense. Choosing that app is up to you. The Apple approved Find My Iphone App can also be used on your Ipad, Ipad Mini and Itouch as well.
A key of course is having your phone protected by a password, and not sharing it with friends.
