Kenora – Drug Related Charges for Four Individuals

KENORA – CRIME – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) with the assistance of the Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) and the Treaty Three Police Service has charged four individuals with ten drug-related offences following arrests in Kenora on Tuesday February 13, 2018.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the two police services.

The investigation focused on methamphetamine trafficking in and around the Kenora area. The investigation concluded with the arrest of the four individuals.

Seized during the investigation were: Crystal methamphetamine, Hydromorphone, Cannabis Marihuana, Canadian Currency and other drug paraphernalia items used in the trafficking of Crystal Methamphetamine. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $30,000.

As a result of the investigation the following people have been charged and held in custody pending a bail hearing:

 Joey NICOLAS age 34, of Kenora has been charged with;

  • Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA).
  • Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine s. 4(1) CDSA.
  • Possession of Cannabis Marihuana – s. 4(1) CDSA.
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000 s. 354(1)(a) Criminal Code (CC).

Frederick OTTERTAIL age 42, of Kenora has been charged with:

  • Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking s. 5(2) CDSA.

Nathanial JORDAN age 38, of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking s.5(2) CDSA.

Brandon MCDONALD age 23, of Kenora has been charged with:

  • Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking s.5(2).
  • Possession of Crystal methamphetamine s. 4(1) CDSA.
  • Possession of Cannabis Marihuana s. 4(1) CDSA.
  • Possession of Hydromorphone s. 4(1) CDSA.

 None of the charges have been proven in court.
