Sioux Lookout Drug Investigation Results in Arrest

SIOUX LOOKOUT – The Ontario Provincial Police (Sioux Lookout Detachment) report that during the early morning hours of Saturday October 8, 2016, members of the OPP executed a search warrant at a local Sioux Lookout hotel as part of a drug related occurrence.

The Police search resulted in the discovery and seizure of a large amount of cocaine with an approximate street value of $8,000. Also seized was a quantity of cash and marihuana.

As a result of the investigation, twenty-five-year-old Anthony Beardy of Bearskin Lake, Ontario has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, contrary to the controlled drugs and substances act, and possession of property obtained by crime, contrary to the criminal code.

Anthony Beardy was remanded into custody on his charges and is scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout bail court on Tuesday October 11, 2016.
