Donors on Giving Tuesday already graciously raised $30,456 towards the total value of $83,881 for items on the Wish List, including fully funding 2 Bili Blankets.

Alex Haapa-aho raised $10,665 for the Northern Cancer Fund after growing his hair for about 1.5 years. He got it shaved off on his 9th birthday on October 28, 2016, and recently returned to the Cancer Centre to place a plaque, bearing the names of his grandfathers, in memory of whom he started this project

Thunder Bay Safeway employees recently toured the Cardiac Rehabilitation gym – part of TBRHSC’s Rehabilitation and Healthy Lifestyles program. Through the Safeway Employee Payroll Donation program, Safeway employees made a gift of $16,303.49 to support the development of a new website for the Rehabilitation and Healthy Lifestyles program, along with support for the WE-Can (Wellness and Exercise for Individuals Living with Cancer) program. In the past decade, Safeway has invested over $100,000 at the Health Sciences Centre.

Members of the Organizing Committee of the Balmoral Park Acura Save a Heart Ball recently toured the Cath Labs at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Funds from this year’s Ball, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary, will go to the Northern Cardiac Fund to support the replacement of one C-arm in the cath lab, at a cost of $1.4 million.
