Fort Frances – TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

OPP Impaired Driving Alcohol Splash

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a motorist during a routine traffic stop.

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, officers from the Fort Frances OPP conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck in a local business parking lot after observing a vehicle infraction. During the interaction, officers noted signs of alcohol consumption and began an investigation.

As a result, Kevin LANDRY a 26-year-old from Chelmsford, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Monday, May 11, 2026.
