BMW stopped in 90 km/h zone; licence suspension and vehicle impoundment issued
NIPIGON, ON — A 21-year-old from Thunder Bay is facing a stunt driving charge after Ontario Provincial Police in Nipigon stopped a vehicle for allegedly travelling 145 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.
OPP say the incident occurred March 1, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m. An officer with the Nipigon Detachment, using a radar speed-measuring device, observed a 2020 BMW at the reported speed. A traffic stop was conducted.

Speeding: 145 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone
Police say the driver received a 30-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
