11 Calls for Service Logged Feb. 3–19; Several Arrests Made, Multiple Files Still Under Investigation

WINNIPEG — Winnipeg Police say they are investigating a series of threats directed at schools across the city, responding to 11 calls for service between February 3 and February 19, 2026.

Police say the incidents involved online threats and were investigated to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the broader community.

The reports echo past waves of online school threats seen in other Canadian cities, including Thunder Bay, where several high schools were previously targeted in similar incidents. In the Thunder Bay instance Hammarskjold High School was at the core of the targeted threats. Arrests were made in Thunder Bay.

Locations Linked to Reported Threats

Winnipeg Police listed the following locations associated with the investigations:

• 1–99 block of Bournais Drive — Investigated; no criminal charges laid.

• 400 block of Church Avenue — 10-year-old youth referred to the Turnabout program.

• 1–99 block of Hastings Boulevard — 30-year-old woman from Toronto arrested; charged with Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm (x2); released on an undertaking.

• 400 block of Flora Avenue — 13-year-old youth arrested; charged with Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm; released on an undertaking (as previously reported).

• 800 block of Selkirk Avenue — Investigation ongoing.

• 700 block of Jefferson Avenue — Investigation ongoing.

• 400 block of Church Avenue — Investigation ongoing (separate occurrence).

• 1000 block of Cottonwood Road — Investigation ongoing.

• 100 block of Southglen Boulevard — Investigated; no criminal charges laid.

• 500 block of Chalmers Avenue — Investigation ongoing.

• 400 block of Scotia Street — 16-year-old youth arrested; charged with Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm (x3); released on an undertaking.

What the Charge Means

Police laid charges under the Criminal Code offence of uttering threats, which applies when someone knowingly communicates a threat to cause death or bodily harm to another person. Each count typically reflects a separate alleged threat or target.
