Patrol Officers Locate Wanted Woman
ATTAWAPISKAT FIRST NATION – A woman arrested on outstanding warrants now faces an additional charge related to drug trafficking after police seized suspected methamphetamine during her arrest.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS), working out of the Attawapiskat First Nation detachment, were conducting routine community patrol during the afternoon of Tuesday, January 27, when they spotted a woman known to be wanted on outstanding warrants.
Arrest Made Without Incident
Officers approached the woman as she exited a business on Balsam Street, taking her into custody without incident.
Suspected Meth Seized
During the investigation, police determined the woman was in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, which was seized by officers. Police estimate the street value of the drugs at more than $12,400.

Cassandra Noah, 29, of Attawapiskat First Nation, has been charged with:

Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
She appeared for a bail hearing on Wednesday, January 28, and was released with conditions. She is expected to return to court on a future date.
