OPP Report No Injuries in Collision

ENGLISH RIVER – Ontario Provincial Police have closed Highway 17 in the English River area following a single-vehicle collision involving a transport truck. Police report no injuries.

OPP are advising motorists to expect significant delays and to drive with caution, noting icy road conditions in the area. Very cold temperatures are also adding to winter driving risk today.

What drivers should know

  • Avoid the area if you can and consider delaying travel until the highway reopens.

  • Slow down, increase following distance, and watch for emergency vehicles on scene.
