Multiple Charges Laid After Male Flees From Police, Drugs Seized

A male from Sagamok Anishnawbek is facing a number of charges after fleeing from police.

In the early morning hours of January 1, 2026, Anishinabek Police Service officers were conducting R.I.D.E. activities at various locations across Sagamok Anishnawbek when they observed a snow machine leaving an address.

Upon seeing the officers, the driver fled on foot and was located hiding under a deck at the rear of a residence. He was identified as being on a Release Order and was placed under arrest.

A search of the male was conducted and the following items were seized:

  • 8.6g suspected crystal meth
  • 1g of suspected blue and purple fentanyl
  • 2.5g of suspected dark yellow fentanyl

A 42-year-old male from Sagamok Anishnawbek was arrested and charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs (x2 counts)
  • Drive Motorized Snow Vehicle While License Suspended
