Thunder Bay – News – December 25, 2025 – Canadian rideshare company Uride founded in Thunder Bay is offering free rides up to $25 on Christmas Day to help ensure people don’t miss out on spending the holidays with their families.
Uride says anyone who is struggling to afford a ride, or does not have access to transportation to get to Christmas dinner, can reach out and receive free rides to and from their destination.
The offer is available through Uride’s Good Deed program, where a portion of rides each month go towards helping the community.
“Most of us have been in situations where money or transportation make life harder than it needs to be,” said Cody Ruberto, founder and CEO of Uride.
“If we can help bring more families together on Christmas, then this initiative will be more than worth it.”
Ruberto said any individuals in need, or those wishing to nominate someone else, can email support@uridetech.com with the subject line “Free Christmas Rides” to get your code.
Eligible participants will receive two promo codes, each covering a ride of up to $25 on Christmas day. The codes can be used for a ride to and from Christmas dinner using the Uride app.
The initiative is specifically aimed at helping people get to Christmas dinner with loved ones, particularly during a time when transportation can be limited or expensive.
Founded in Thunder Bay, Uride focuses on providing safe and affordable transportation and has built its reputation around helping people get home safely when it matters most.
“We started Uride to prevent impaired driving,” Ruberto said.
“Helping people get home safe and be with the people they care about is why we do what we do, and we wish everyone an incredible, and safe holiday season!”
