TBPS says a 46-year-old woman is facing two counts of mischief over $5,000 after a 5 a.m. vehicle fire at 50 Cumberland Street spread and damaged the building’s exterior. TBFR deployed multiple crews; one person was assessed on scene.
THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response officers and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue (TBFR) responded around 5:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 3, 2025 to reports of a vehicle fire at the south entrance of Gateway Casino, 50 Cumberland Street (Incident TB25039576).
Bystanders alerted TBFR to a fully involved vehicle fire. Crews towed the burning vehicle away from the structure to protect the building while attack lines were established. The blaze spread from the vehicle and caused exterior damageto the casino before being brought under control.

The accused appeared in court Friday and was remanded into custody, with a future appearance date to be set.
All accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
