Thunder Bay – Breaking – Thunder Bay Police Service officers are responding to a call related to an aggressive bear in the Heather Crescent area. The MNR has been contacted to sedate and relocate the bear.

Residents are asked to remain in their homes when police and MNR are on scene to reduce the risk to people and pets while the bear is being tranquilized.

Residents are encouraged to take the necessary steps to prevent bear encounters.

Bears are attracted to food. Garbage, bird feeders, pet food can bring in bears.
