NAPS Crime Unit Leads Ongoing Investigation; Suspects Released on Conditions
MOOSE FACTORY – NEWS — Two Moose Factory residents are facing aggravated assault charges following a violent weekend incident that left a 16-year-old boy hospitalized in Ottawa with serious injuries.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025, the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) Moose Factory detachment responded to a weapons-related call for service. Officers arrived to find that a teenage male had been attacked with a blunt object, suffering significant injuries.
The victim was quickly transported from the community for advanced medical care and is now being treated at a hospital in Ottawa. Police have confirmed his injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigation Leads to Arrests
The NAPS Crime Unit launched an investigation, which swiftly identified two suspects believed to be responsible for the assault.
On Sunday, August 24, officers located and arrested both men.

Court Appearance and Release
Both accused appeared in bail court on Monday, August 25. They were released on conditions, with future court dates pending as the case proceeds through the justice system.
The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service has confirmed the investigation remains ongoing, with the Crime Unit continuing to gather evidence.
