OPP URGES IMPAIRED DRIVING TO BE TREATED LIKE THE SERIOUS CRIME IT IS

SIOUX LOOKOUT – NEWS — The Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious assault that left one individual with life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, shortly before 6:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Millar Crescent where they located the injured victim. The individual remains in hospital, with their condition being monitored closely.

Investigation Ongoing

The OPP Sioux Lookout Crime Unit is leading the case under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, with support from Forensic Identification Services and the OPP Regional Support Team.

While the investigation remains active, police state that preliminary findings suggest this was an isolated incident, with no evidence of an ongoing risk to the wider community.

Residents in the area should expect to see an increased police presence as officers continue to gather evidence and conduct interviews.
