Community Response Teams: Enforcement and Prevention
Alberta’s Community Response Teams play a dual role, combining outreach strategies with targeted enforcement to disrupt criminal activity while also engaging communities to reduce victimization and address social factors contributing to crime.
The CRT model emphasizes working with municipal police and community organizations to combat drug trafficking, illegal firearms, and organized crime — while also promoting public safety and wellness.
The RCMP note that fentanyl seizures continue to highlight the ongoing opioid crisis affecting communities across Alberta and Canada.
