NAPS officer treated for non-serious injury; four assault counts laid following disturbance call
KASHECHEWAN FIRST NATION – NEWS – An Attawapiskat First Nation man faces multiple charges after an alleged attack on officers at the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) detachment in Kashechewan.
NAPS officers from the Kashechewan Detachment responded to a disturbance in a parking lot on Reserve Road in the early morning of Thursday, Aug. 14. Police say they identified a male suspect and took him into custody without incident at the scene.
At the detachment, the accused allegedly became combative and assaulted the arresting officers. One officer sustained an injury described as non-serious. Police say the accused was restrained and lodged at the detachment.
Charges
Kenneth Wesley, 18, of Attawapiskat First Nation, is charged with:

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 19.
