Methamphetamine, cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia seized in August 15 investigation
SIOUX LOOKOUT – CRIME – On Friday, August 15, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Sioux Lookout OPP Community Street Crime Unit, with support from officers from the Sioux Lookout Detachment, arrested an individual for alleged drug trafficking offences in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.
Police patrolling the Millar Crescent area observed a person known to be in breach of their court-ordered release conditions.
The individual was arrested and found to be in possession of suspected illicit substances.
Following the investigation, officers seized:

Suspected methamphetamine

Suspected cocaine and crack cocaine

Drug trafficking paraphernalia
-
Canadian currency
Charges Laid
As a result, Cara Tait, 33, of Sachigo Lake First Nation, has been charged with:

Two counts – Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

One count – Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
-
Three counts – Failure to comply with Release Order
The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Dryden/Sioux Lookout Bail Court on August 19, 2025.
