Today’s New Fire

  • Kenora 60: Located west of Little Sand Lake, about 10 km northwest of Minaki. Estimated at 0.1 hectares and not under control.

Regional Status

  • Active fires: 54

    • Not under control: 3

    • Under control: 5

    • Being observed: 46

Fire Hazard

  • Mainly low across the Kenora, Fort Frances, Red Lake, and Sioux Lookout fire management areas.

  • Low to moderate in the Thunder Bay and Nipigon sectors.

Fire of Note: Red Lake 99 (NE of Poplar Hill First Nation)

  • Size: 30,602 hectares

  • Status: Not under control

  • Operations: 3 crews are making good progress with help from low fire behaviour. More rain is forecast for the area this week.
