Teen Motorcyclist Dies in Collision at Highway 11/17 and Mapleward Road

THUNDER BAY, ON – A 17-year-old male from Kakabeka Falls has died after a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 11/17 and Mapleward Road.

The crash happened around 6:43 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025. The teen was taken to hospital and later pronounced deceased.

The Thunder Bay OPP, with support from the North West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team, investigated at the scene. The highway was closed in all directions for several hours and reopened shortly before 2:00 p.m.
