THUNDER BAY – LIVING – You have lots to choose from today and Sunday. From taking the family to Boulevard Lake, Centennial Park, Chippewa Park, or planning a great evening around the barbeque, Thunder Bay awaits.

  • Paranormal Cirque IV (Fri–Mon)
    Under the big-top at Intercity Shopping Centre (near Lot B), catch this spooky circus Friday at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Sunday at 2:30, 5:30 & 8:30 p.m., and Monday at 7:30 p.m. Kids under 13 get in free; 13–17 year-olds need an adult.

  • Opening of Southside Thrift and Gift – Go enjoy the work Lori and Carla have done as the latest innovation at 507 Victoria Ave East opens today.
  • Venture into Goods & Co in the Waterfront District and check out the newly revamped Red River Road. Rumour has it some of the best sandwiches are to be had just inside the west side door! Strawberries are in stock by the basket!
  • DJ Rogue at The Foundry (Sat @ 10 p.m.)
    Night owls only—$5 cover, 19+ event, live beats to keep you dancing until late.

  • All Canada Tug of War Championship (Sat @ 3 p.m.–8 p.m.)
    Military Grounds, free admission. See 12+ teams go head-to-head “Kerala style,” with food stalls, music, cash prizes—and the kickoff to TBMA’s Onam Festival 2025.

  • Festival of Colours (Sun @ 3 p.m.–8 p.m.)
    Marina Park, free entry. Bring a white shirt for the colour throws, plus live music, dance acts and food trucks.

  • Local Author Showcase at Indigo (Sat @ 1 p.m.–5 p.m.)
    Meet 14 home-grown writers—from Lance Robinson and Ben Date to ShaeMichelle Watson and Marion Agnew—selling and signing their latest books.

  • Deck Tours of the St. Lawrence II (Sat @ 3 p.m.–6 p.m.)
    While she’s tied up at Marina Park, climb aboard this tall ship for a free guided look at Thunder Bay’s sailing ambassador.

  • Family Day at Oliver Paipoonge Heritage Park (Sat @ 12 p.m.–4:30 p.m.)
    $5 adults, kids 12 & under free. Crafts, games, live music, plus Polly the Clown (2–3 p.m.) and Rodney Brown (3–4 p.m.) in the Pavilion.

  • Dark Horse at Wayland Bar & Grill (Sat @ 10 p.m.)
    $5 cover, 19+ show. Rock out with this local favourite.

  • Dog Agility Trials at Chippewa Park (Sat–Sun @ 9 a.m.–4 p.m.)
    Free to watch—see canine athletes navigate tunnels, jumps and weave poles all weekend.

  • “Wings of Time – Homecoming of the Harvards” (Sat–Sun @ 10 a.m.–5 p.m.)
    Thunder Bay Airport ramp (201 Kelner Place). Historic Harvard aircraft on display—donation entry, free parking, rain date July 26–27.

  • Festival of India (Sat @ 3 p.m.–8 p.m.)
    Marina Park, all-ages, free admission. Immerse yourself in live music, classical dance, yoga, henna art, cultural exhibits and a free vegetarian feast—plus a 3 p.m. Jagannath Rathyatra Chariot Parade.
