Dryden Resident Arrested: Multiple Charges Laid Following Harassment Investigation

Dryden, ON – The Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested an individual after a thorough investigation into reports of harassing behavior.

Lengthy Investigation Leads to Arrest

The investigation, which commenced in August 2023, focused on numerous reports of harassing behaviour in the Dryden area. Following diligent efforts by law enforcement, on October 10, 2023, around 12:00 p.m., police officers located the individual in question and attempted to effect an arrest.

Resisting Arrest and Assaulting an Officer

During the arrest attempt, the officer duly informed the individual of their arrest. However, the situation escalated when the individual resisted arrest and assaulted the officer. After a brief struggle, the individual was successfully placed under arrest.

Charges Filed

Diane ST LAURENT, a 54-year-old resident of Dryden, ON, now faces several charges under the Criminal Code, including:

  • Criminal Harassment
  • Defamation Known to be False
  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Mischief Under $5,000

Court Appearance

The accused has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on October 12, 2023, to respond to the charges laid against them.
