    In addition to his practical experience, Dr. Shankar hosts, attends, and speaks at conferences all around the country and has been invited speaker in international conferences. He has extensively covered conferences on patient-based head and neck case discussions, common clinical scenarios in oncology, and specific niche topics like laryngeal carcinoma and thyroid cancer. He is also a regular contributor to academia with informational articles covering the process of thyroid gland removal and other similar neck-region surgical processes.

     

    Dr. Shankar’s focus areas include head and neck cancer which includes; oral, thyroid, larynx, ear, nose, paranasal sinus, throat cancer, tongue, jaw, skull base malignancy, endoscopic surgery, micro laryngeal laser surgery, and parathyroid tumors. He is also an advocate for rehabilitation centers. It is his fervent belief that proper rehabilitation is one of the most important factors that play a part in a full recovery.
