PIKANGIKUM – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning.
Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:
- Pikangikum – Poplar Hill – MacDowell
At 2:37 p.m. CDT (3:37 p.m. EST), Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
Thunderstorms are tracking eastward at 60 kilometres per hour and will continue for the next couple of hours through this afternoon.
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
