Thunder Bay – WEATHER – The region is a contrast in weather for Saturday. Thunder Bay at -5°C and Ontario’s cold spot is -25.3°C in Washaho Cree Nation / Fort Severn.

Thunder Bay Weather

For Thunder Bay, expect clearing skies by early this morning. Winds will be up to 15 km/h. High temperature for Saturday will be -5°C with the wind chill making it feel more like -18°C this morning and -7°C this afternoon.

Tonight we will see cloudy skies, however it will become partly cloudy near midnight. Winds up to 15 km/h. Low minus 7°C. Wind chill near minus 13°C.

Washaho Cree Nation

Our cold spot this morning at -25.3°C will see mainly clear skies this morning. Increasing cloudiness early this afternoon with a 60 percent chance of snow late this afternoon is expected. Winds will be west 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming light late this afternoon. High minus 21°C however the wind chill will make it feel more like -42°C this morning and minus 32°C this afternoon. Bundle up, exposed skin is subject to frostbite in minutes.

For tonight, the weather service is calling for snow with amounts of up to 5 cm. Winds will become southeast 20 km/h this evening. Temperature rising to -13°C by morning. Wind chill -32°C this evening and -16°C overnight. There is of course a risk of frostbite with the evening wind chill.

Kenora and Lake of the Woods

It is -19 at 06:00 am CST in Kenora under clear skies. Winds will become south 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning. The daytime high -7°C, however the wind chill will make it feel more like -25°C this morning and -14°C this afternoon.

Tonight will see skies becoming cloudy and then up to 2 cm of snow. Winds will be southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming northwest 30 gusting to 60 after midnight. The temperature will climb to to -2°C by morning. The wind chill will be -10°C this evening and -18°C overnight.
