THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – We keep seeing signs that winter is nearer. The cold spot in Ontario at -12.6 °C is Armstrong. This of course is not as cold as Eureka in Nunavat where it is a balmy Canadian -28.9 °C.

Again today, in the Poplar River and Beren’s River regions of Manitoba there are snow squall warnings. There could be snow in the far west of Ontario as a result.

Thunder Bay Forecast

Environment Canada says to expect a mix of sun and cloud today with a 30 percent chance of flurries late this morning and early this afternoon. Winds will blow at up to 15 km/h. Today’s high plus 1. Wind chill minus 8 this morning. Heading into tonight, expect a few clouds with winds staying at 15 km/h. The overnight low will be -7 with the wind chill making it feel like -12.

Armstrong

For Ontario’s cold spot this morning in Armstrong, expect mainly cloudy skies with a 40 percent chance of flurries this morning and early this afternoon. Skies will clear this afternoon. Wind up to 15 km/h. High minus 1. Wind chill minus 16 this morning and minus 3 this afternoon. For tonight a few clouds. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low minus 8. Wind chill minus 3 this evening and minus 11 overnight.

Kenora and Lake of The Woods

Mainly cloudy skies with a 40 percent chance of flurries this morning and early this afternoon are in the forecast for the Lake of the Woods region. Winds will be southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 this afternoon. High minus 2. Wind chill near minus 10. For tonight, partly cloudy skies. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low minus 7. Wind chill minus 8 this evening and minus 14 overnight.
