Yoga is so popular these days that more and more people want different variations of it. And for those who want to bring their next yoga session to the next level, yoga on a paddleboard is one of the best and fun ways to do it. It will combine your love for yoga and water and you also get to learn a lot of things you normally wouldn’t get in a regular yoga session. You might think why would people want to do some poses on a wobbly surface? It’s hard enough to do a pose on solid ground. But that is actually the art of paddleboard yoga as it can help you have a unique experience in your yoga practice.

Here are 3 tips to doing yoga on a paddle board.

  1.    Choose the best Stand up Paddle Board for yoga.

When it comes to doing yoga on a paddle board, you need to make sure that you choose a board that can perfectly help you find your balance. Before doing a final purchase, make sure that you have done your research in finding the best paddle boards for yoga. These boards are created and designed solely for yoga so compared to regular paddleboards, they are much wider and provides an even more stability. For you to get the right board, ask some recommendations from friends or family. You can also read some reviews online or go directly to a paddleboard shop so you can see for yourself. Having the best equipment is crucial for you to enjoy paddleboard yoga.

  1.    Wear appropriate yoga clothes.

As they all say, if you are going to do the part, you also need to look the part! So when you do yoga on a paddle board, you also need to be on appropriate clothes. Wearing something you would be comfortable to do poses is very important. You don’t want something you would be awkward in when it comes to doing some yoga poses. For example, you might be comfortable wearing a bikini, but only on certain poses. So it is best that you wear something that will keep you focused on your yoga practice instead. Other than that, you might also want to consider some accessories to go along with your attire. This may include polarized sunglasses or a hat which can come in handy when you are facing the sun while doing yoga poses.

  1.    Leave anything that can distract you on shore.

You want to make sure that as you are doing poses for yoga on a paddle board that you are totally focused. That being said, anything that can distract you must be kept out of sight. While you can bring your phone provided that you place it in a waterproof phone case, it can get you distracted in your practice. If you really want to snap a few shots of you doing some yoga pose, you can always do so but once you are done, leave it behind so you can focus.
