Impaired Driving Charges Follow Accident

The Festive Ride program statistics from Sudbury show the community Joined Thunder Bay in Increased numbers of drivers charged.

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – On Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at approximately 11:40 am, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Anishinabek Police Service (APS) responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 61 between the intersections of Arthur Street and Neebing Avenue.

The driver of a northbound grey 2 door automobile struck a southbound white Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). There were no injuries reported.

An officer spoke to the driver of the automobile and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was transported to the Thunder Bay Police Service for further tests.

Wesley PELLETIER-STADEY, 32 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with:

-Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,

-Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on September 29, 2017 to answer to the charges.
